Abstract

The tree trunk is temporarily lowered during operation of the saw used to cut it into pieces of timber in order to prevent cutting damage. A special cylinder pressurises the opposite side of the lifting cylinder and allows excess oil from the cylinder`s lifting function to be collected in an accumulator.
