Abstract

The vehicle is fitted with pneumatic suspension elements on each wheel and with a parking brake acting on each axle. The parking brake is lifted on one axle during manual adjustment of the suspension. This reduces mechanical stress. If the vehicle starts to roll, after release of one parking brake, the suspension adjustment is blocked and the full parking brake action is restored. The suspension control has sensors to monitor the actual spacing between the suspension and the vehicle and compare same with the selected values. The vehicle movement is detected by other sensors, which can include the ABS sensors.
