Abstract

The method involves monitoring engine (1) air supply, so that incoming air flow (ms) in the air supply system of the engine is measured at its entry, and the air flow (mcy1) entering the engine, is regulated by a throttle valve, arranged upstream of the entry. The required air flow to the engine is computed and compared with the incoming air flow. Any difference between these air flows is valued as an indication, that a leak exists in the air supply system.
