Abstract

The cutting ring is releasably clamped between a flanged fastener ring and a support surface. - A support (2) is secured to a rotating shaft and a hard metal ring (3) is releasably attached to the support using a fastener ring (4), the metal ring being clamped between a support surface (20) and a retainer flange (36) in the fastener ring. A cutting edge which cooperates with a blade opposite to it is provided in the metal ring. When the metal ring needs to be sharpened it is removed and secured in a special fitting. Independent claims are also included for (a) the blade grinding method and (b) the fitting used to grind the blade.
