Abstract

The invention concerns a caisson for keeping and rearing fish. The caisson is made of a net and is supported by a float 5 advantageously of spherical shape on which there is an upper frame 4, advantageously circular, whose inner part is open, and the cover net 1A is secured to the upper frame 4 and the frame 2 and provides a free space for the fish between the cover net 1A and the water surface and the frame 2 which is lighter than water is pressed upwards and possibly floats, and the frame 3 which is heavier than water is pressed downwards and holds the side net 1B between the frames 2 and 3 taut. In the normal position, the float 5 shuts off the opening of the frame 4. On introducing or removing fish or feed, the caisson is lifted by gripping round the frame 4 and the float 5, by means of its weight, remains on the water surface and leaves the opening in the frame 4 free, through which it is possible to remove or introduce fish or feed. When the caisson, secured via a line 7 to the float 5, is lifted back, the opening of the frame 4 is closed by the float 5 and the caisson again becomes a closed structure. <IMAGE>
