Abstract

A cellulosic sheet material comprises a core (4, 5) made from recycled fibres, provided on both sides with a surface layer (7, 8) based on chemical pulp fibres and containing flakes (11) of recycled patterned paper.The process for making this material is also claimed, comprising the preparation of a chemical pulp fibre surface layer containing the paper flakes, then forming the core layer on one side of the surface layer and pressing and drying the web, and then laminating two of these webs together with their surface layers facing out, following which the laminated web is cut into sheets.
