Abstract

An industrial robot safety switch placed between the forward part of the robot head and the tool carried thereby. The safety switch includes a housing (2) which is fixedly mounted relative to a robot head and which includes a guide body (3) that is displaceable. The safety switch is actuated upon predetermined displacement between the housing and the guide body. The invention is characterized in that the guide body (3) includes a plate (7), and a post (8) which is intended to be fixedly arranged relative to the tool. The bottom of the housing includes an aperture (10) which is delimited by planar side-walls (12-15) parallel with the post (8) and perpendicular to the plane (17) of the plate. The largest dimensions of the plate (7) are essentially the same as corresponding dimensions of the aperture (10). The plate delimiting surfaces (18-21) are outwardly convexed with a radius of curvature such as to enable the plate (7) to be displaced relative to the housing (2) by tilting the plate relative to the aperture (10).
