Abstract
The receiver includes a first feedback loop for aligning the receiver's frame timing by using a frame timing deviation signal to control an oscillator producing the receiver sampling clock. A second feedback loop compensates for channel effects by using a signal. This signal is representative of an argument estimate of the pilot carrier to control the oscillator which is VCXO. The transmission system is a DMT based VDSL system. The receiver includes a correlator connected to a peak position estimator to produce the frame timing deviation signal.
