Abstract
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a magnetic core, which comprises folding at least one band (6) to and fro such as to form a plurality of band layers. According to the invention the following steps are performed: placing a mandrel (1) so that a first concave edge (4) is formed between the mandrel (1) and a first plane (2), and so that a second concave edge (5) is formed between the mandrel (1) and a second plane (3); pressing one band end (12) against the mandrel (1) at the first edge (4) with the aid of a band holder (21); folding the band (6) to and fro to form several band layers across the mandrel (1) and against the edge (4, 5) with the aid of at least one band guider (21, 22, 23, 24), such as to form pleated core ends on the planes (2, 3), while at least one holder (21, 22, 23, 24) presses the at that moment outermost band layer against the mandrel (1) and towards the plane (2, 3) at each end of the magnetic core.
