Abstract

Shotgun cartridge comprising shot (2) packed into a container (6) inside a cartridge case (1) above a gunpowder charge (7) and a percussion cap (4). The shot is arranged in one or more stacks (3), with the shot in each stack being oriented in the length direction (5) of the gun barrel.The preparation of these cartridges is also claimed, in which the shot is arranged in parallel stacks when being filled into the cartridge, with each piece of shot being oriented in a straight line in the length direction of the barrel. Preferably the shot is made from lead, steel or another suitable material.
