Abstract
A two-way slotted rudder in particular for aircraft is described. It comprises a carrier element (1) which is rigidly attached to the vehicle or aircraft and has carrier surfaces and in relation to which a rudder element (2) is attached to be rotatable about a first shaft (3) rigidly attached to the aircraft. It is in particular characterized in that on each side of a first chord plane (4) passing through the carrier element (1) a first door (5, 6) is arranged to be rotatable about a second shaft (7, 8) to the carrier element. The first door is arranged to connect, with its edge (9, 10) facing away from the second shaft, to the surface of the rudder element, in the case where a second chord plane (11) extending through the rudder element is parallel to the first chord plane (4) or forms an angle alpha thereto in a direction towards said first door. It forms at said edge (9, 10) a slot (12) together with the rudder element in the case where said angle alpha is formed in a direction away from said door. In each of the first doors a second door (13, 14) is arranged and is rotatable about a third shaft (7, 8, 30-33) and forms a window (15, 16) in the first door in the case where the angle alpha is formed in a direction away from said first door, so that a flow path (17) is formed for the fluid from the pressure side of the rudder element to the suction side thereof.
