Abstract

Absorbent product, eg. sanitary towel, panty liner or incontinence pad, with an absorption layer (4) between liquid permeable and impermeable surface layers (2, 3). The absorption layer has two end edges (6, 7) extending in the width direction of the product, two side edges (8, 9) extending in the length direction, two end sections (10, 11), central section (12) between the two end sections, and two wings (14, 15) projecting out from the side edges on either side of the central section. Each of the wings contains elastic regions (20) running parallel to the absorption layer side edges, used to pull both of the wings and both ends of the absorption layer towards the central section.
