Abstract

The fuel injection control allows the fuel injection for individual engine cylinders to be suppressed when drive slip is detected, for reducing the drive torque delivered by the engine. The suppression of the fuel injection is limited in the upper rev. range and/or in the full load range, e.g. by reducing the frequency of the fuel injection suppression, or reducing the duration of the fuel injection suppression. Pref. number of cylinders for which the fuel injection is to be suppressed for torque regulation is calculated as a suppression pattern, each individual suppression pattern having a limited time duration.
