Abstract

The invention relates to a high-voltage circuit breaker according to the self-blast and/or puffer-type principle. The main current path of the circuit breaker is made of tube of a plastically machinable material, preferably copper or a copper alloy. The blast piston (28) of the circuit breaker and any other components included in the circuit breaker, such as a guide (29) for the operating rod, etc., are fixed to the respective current path section (26) by pressing the plastically machinable material in the current path into a prepared groove (31, 32) in the respective component (28, 29). The blast piston (28) may alternatively be directly integrated into the respective tubular current path section (26) by curving the end portion of the tube inwards in such a way as to create an annular bottom forming a blast piston.
