Abstract
The transformer involved incorporates at least one HV conductor (1), a LV conductor (2) a casing, transformer box (3), press flanges (4), an insulated support for LV connection (6), an intermediate the layer (7), LV winding (8), HV winding (9), iron cores (10), intermediate layer, conductor insulation in the HV winding, conductor in the HV winding, insulating cylinder, conductor insulation in the LV winding, and a conductor in the LV winding. The transformer box is wholly filled with transformer oil. The polar character in the insulating material in the conductor insulations, insulating cylinder, intermediate layers and other fibre-based insulations in the transformer are reduced by means of a treatment whereby all polar charged or weak bindings in the insulation surface layer have been modified.
