Abstract

A valve arrangement (17) is used in conjunction with the flow meter (15) so that medium passage is allowed through the flow meter or past it in parallel coupled conduit (18). By means of the vacuum producer (V) using the passage (18) past the flow meter (15) a vacuum is produced in the test object (A) hollow space. After achieving a predetermined vacuum, the flow meter is coupled between the vacuum producer and the test object, and by monitoring, recording and/or calculating of the volume of air or gas which has required to be removed for maintaining the predetermined vacuum in the test object hollow space, the degree of seal in the test object is determined.
