Abstract

The invention relates to an electromagnetically operated electric switching device, in particular a contactor, comprising at least one fixed contact (20) mounted on a stand (10) made of fibre-reinforced plastic, and one movable contact (21) cooperating with the fixed contact, said movable contact being supported by a contact carrier (23) connected to the armature (30) of an operating magnet. The core (31) and the operating coil (32) of the operating magnet may be replaced without the use of tools and without having to dismantle the electric switching device or loosening it from the mounting plane. The resilience which is required for fixing the core (31) at the correct level is integrated into the stand (10) of the electric switching device. The fixing of the operating coil (32) and the core (31) in the correct lateral position is achieved by a latch (40), which receives its force from a spring (24), the main function of which is, in a currentless operating coil, to return the movable contact to the open position.
