Abstract
An inert support body is impregnated with an aqueous solution containing a salt of platina and a salt of cerium or lanthanum. The metal salts are then precipitated simultaneously by contact with one or more alkaline substances, as a platina hydroxide and a cerium or lanthanum hydroxide, respectively. The support is subsequently dried and then heated to a temperature of 300-900 DEG C, whereby the precipitated platina hydroxide and the precipitated cerium or lanthanum hydroxide respectively are principally calcined to the corresponding oxide.
