Abstract

A description is given of an adhesive for the bonding of plastics articles. As binder, the adhesive contains a water-insoluble synthetic organic polymer, and as solvent the adhesive contains a mixture of low molecular weight esters of organic dicarboxylic acids, together if desired with a lactam. Furthermore, the adhesive contains conventional additives such as stabilisers, thickeners and thixotropic agents. Also described is a method of generating an adhesive area between the surface areas of plastics articles, using the adhesive.
