Abstract

The tension ring (7) can be secured in different positions on the shaft for clamping a tool or workpiece (1) on the shaft (2). The tension ring near its shaft hole forms a double-walled casing with an internal pressure chamber (9) contg. an elastic or plastics pressure medium which can be pressurised with the aid of a pressure component (10, 11). The casing wall (8) facing the shaft (2) is relatively thin so that on pressurisation of the pressure medium in the pressure chamber it expands radially inwards, thereby producing a clamping of the tension ring against the shaft. The tension ring is provided with one or more axial tension components (12-15) formed so that on activation it is pressed axially against the tool or workpiece, locking it firmly on the shaft or spindle (2, 3).
