Abstract
The striker igniter for an explosive charge incorporates an igniter housing (1), in which is a displaceable striker pin (4), which can adopt an armed position. The striker ignitor prevents the striker pin by means of a force from a tensioned pressure spring being pushed to a striking position, where a point on the striker pin strikes against an igniter cap (8). The striker pin incorporates a restraining component (20) fixed on it which by location against an arresting surface (14) in the igniter housing is maintained in the armed position. The striker pin is arranged to be rotated so that the restraining component releases the arresting surface, allowing force to be applied to the striker position. The striker pin has two opposing restraining components (20) and the igniter housing has two arresting surfaces (14).
