Abstract

The feed system for the delivery of an elastomeric stretch yarn (33), to a knitter and the like, has a leading section (3) to carry the yarn bobbin (4) as a replaceable component unit. The mounting (24) is located at the frame section (26) with easy removal. The leading section (3) is a cassette unit with a hub (7) so that, when the bobbin (4) is on the hub (7), it is partially shrouded at least, and can be placed on the hub (7) when the unit (3) is removed from the frame (26) and taken off the hub. The mounting (24) is structured so that, in the working position, the bobbin (4) rests on the surface of the next section (8) with a constant pressure as the bobbin (4) unwinds, or with a controlled pressure change according to a set function. An additional weight can be fitted to the section (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - The feed system is for the delivery of a stretch yarn to a textile machine, such as a knitter, to draw the yarn at a given tension and stretch from the bobbin. The yarn bobbins and the yarn are easily handled, with simple dust prevention.
