Abstract

In an extractor hood of the type which is to capture a relatively large volume of air from a defined area, there is on one side of the hood an air supply chamber 3, where air is supplied, and on the opposite side a flue 4, 6, preferably with a filter 9. The air supply opening to the hood is designed as a gap 10, running along the side edge, between a horizontally extending edge flange 11 on the outer surface of the hood and a smooth curved end piece 12 on the inner surface 7 of the hood. This end piece 12 is guided past the end of the horizontal edge flange 11 and is curved up at least to a course approximately parallel to the inner surface 7. In this way, the outflowing air is made to follow the inner edge in the hood. <IMAGE>
