Abstract

The device comprises a bearer (14) movable forwards and backwards along a horizontal guide track which carries a magent head (12) fitted in a ring-shaped holder (22) which by means of a draw spring (38) locates against the flat underside of an object and against a magnetic medium. The magnet head is supported so that it can be raised and lowered by upper and lower plate-shaped link arms (34,36) of the same length and parallel to one another. The link arm end edges locate freely in track-shaped bearing seats (30,32) formed in the magnet head holder and the bearer. The link arms are maintained in their bearing seats by means of the draw spring (38) which is fixed to the magnet head holder and the bearer.
