Abstract

For measuring temperature on for example a conductor rail L1 in a low-voltage control system, use is made of a temperature sensor 1 mounted directly on the rail, the active component of which consists of a spring 8 made of memory metal. The movement of the spring at the critical temperature is transmitted mechanically by means of an electrically insulated Bowden cable 3 to a control box 4 at earth potential. The control box contains a temperature scale 12 with non-return pointers for indicating the maximum temperature of the rail and a microswitch 13 which is actuated if the temperature rises to the permitted maximum, a signal circuit being activated.
