Abstract
Thioredoxin comprising a redox-active Cys32-X-Pro34-Cys35 site (E.coli numbering) or a functional derivative thereof in which the amino residue Pro in position 34 has been replaced with His and in which the amino acid residue X in position 33 is selected from Gly and Ala; processes for preparing folded biologically active disulphide-crosslinked proteins in vitro using such thioredoxin; and these processes carried out in the presence of a catalytic quantity of a selenite.
