Abstract

The discs are positioned at an inclined angle to the tool work direction, producing an axial force. The arms supporting the bearings are rigidly connected to the tool frame, and has an outer bearing housing (12) and an inner bearing seat (14) which rotatably supports the tool shaft (11). - Between the inner surface of the bearing housing and the outer surface of the bearing seat an elastic material (13) is arranged in a space the cross-sectional area (22-21) of which at right-angles to the shaft diminishes in the direction of the axial force. This produces progressive axial springing, e.g. a successively increasing axial force at the shaft moves in the direction of the axial force (10).
