Abstract

Installation allowing fish to pass from a low water level (backwater - BV) to a higher water level (top water - OV) in a water course, for example in connection with a dam 51, 52, and comprising a chamber 10 placed at the low water level and designed with sufficient stability to internally withstand the pressure of the top water. Closeable openings 1, 11 in the chamber 10 for communicating with the backwater and top water, respectively, allow the fish to pass into and out of the chamber. Also provided are flow openings 2, 12 which likewise communicate with the backwater and top water, respectively, and are intended to maintain a certain flow of water through the chamber 10 during operation. Arranged in the smallest of the through-openings 2, 12 is an energy-saving and/or energy-disrupting diffuser arrangement for the flow of water. <IMAGE>
