Abstract
The generator (10) is connected via a cable (11) to a rectifier (12), which in turn is connected via a cable (13) to electrical power user points in a road vehicle, including a starter battery (14). The generator incorporates a temp. monitor (15), sending to the rectifier a signal related to the measurement value. The signal is further transmitted via a cable (17) to a control unit (18) which governs the rectifier e.g. by lowering the output voltage from it, thus reducing the load on the generator, when the temp. of the latter exceeds a theoretical value. - Thus, the generator has the possibility of delivering approximately 20% higher effect during a specific period when it is cold, than when normal operating temp. is present. This is caused partly by the fact that the generator inner magnetic field is affected negatively when the temp. increases. (Provisional basic advised week 91/45)
