Abstract
The very volatile cpds. are recovered from their dissolved state in the absorbed water from the hot gas. The hot gas, e.g. hot air, with which the absorption medium is regenerated, and which contains water vapour and the volatile cpds., is fed back to the building from which the polluted atmosphere has been ventilated away. In this way, the water-soluble volatile cpds., with which the water in the adsorption medium is saturated, successively pass through the adsorption medium, and can be recovered in a subsequent recuperation unit. Often, the hot gas, with which the water has been expelled from the adsorption medium, is cooled to a suitable temp., i.e. that ruling in the building to which the gas is returned. The water contg. a large part of the volatile cpds. can be suitably used in water curtains sometimes used in the buildings where the atmosphere is polluted.
