Abstract

An arrangement for visual presentation of the surface blood flow in a body part comprises a laser light source 1 for generating a laser beam 2 which is directed towards the body part 5 to be examined and is moved across this in a defined scanning pattern. The arrangement also includes members for receiving light reflected from the body part and for detecting the reflected light's frequency broadening, caused by the Doppler effect, and for recording this frequency broadening for a large number of points along the scanning trajectory as a measure of the surface blood circulation in the body part at the said points. Also included are members for visual presentation, on a colour monitor, of the surface blood circulation at the scanned points, different colours being used for different ranges of blood circulation. <IMAGE>
