Abstract

In the separate pressure and level control for the righthand and the lefthand side of the vehicle of vehicles with air suspension, it may happen that at the end of pressure and level control, the pressure in the lefthand air suspension element differs considerably from the pressure in the righthand air suspension element. This can exert a considerable negative influence on the handling and the traction. Using valves (25, 26, 27), travel sensors (5 and 6) and pressure sensors (9 and 10), likewise needed for the level control, a control device (15) provides for reduction of the pressure differential between the air suspension elements (1 and 2). With the method according to the invention, this is done with minimum air consumption within a very short time and without the level of the air suspension elements (1 and 2) departing from predetermined limits. The method can be applied in all vehicles with air suspension, for example in buses and trucks, but advantageously also in trucks with a lifting axle. <IMAGE>
