An arrangement for keeping fruit, vegetables etc. cool comprises a refrigerating unit 3 and a first space 4, the refrigerating unit being arranged so as to cool the atmosphere in this first space. The arrangement also comprises a second space 7 which is or can be separated by means of one or more essentially airtight delimiting layers 6, 9. These delimiting layers have a relatively low heat-insulating capacity for the purpose of achieving indirect cooling via the delimiting layers of the interior of the second space by means of the cooling effect the cooled atmosphere in the first space has on the delimiting layers. <IMAGE>
