Abstract
This invention concerns a device for ion generators. In various situations where quick and effective dispersion of generated negatively and/or positively charged air ions is required, it is desirable that the generation is carried out of a large number of ions per unit of time and that these are dispersed in a horizontal axis in a room, a vehicle compartment, or in a workplace e.g. where an antistatic or medical effect is required. This requirement has been fulfilled by placing, in the stream of air from a fan 6, specially shaped carbon-fibre brushes 8 which, through high voltage connection and corona discharge, generate a large number of air ions which are dispersed through oval-shaped gaps 9 in a plate forming a wall in a closed container where the generation takes place. <IMAGE>
