Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent mechanical noise, to perform comfortable air conditioning with a miniature air cleaner, and to enable sterilization treatment of floating various bacteria and microorganisms by utilizing corona discharge to form ion stream and also generating ozone. CONSTITUTION:When respective elements of a thermoelectric element 12 are impressed with voltage, a cooling fin 13 is cooled via a cooling part and on the other hand, a radiation fin 14 is heated via a radiating part. In this state, when impressing high voltage between ionization discharge electrodes 15, 23 and counter electrodes 16, 24 with a high-voltage generator 28, corona discharge is generated in the tips of the discharge electrodes 15, 23 by means of local electric breakdown of air due to a high electric field. The air is ionized by this corona discharge and an air flow is formed by flying out and collision, etc., of negative ions having same polarity. When incorporating an ozone generator into an air conditioner equipped with such an air cleaner 10, sterilization is simultaneously performed.
