Abstract

A portable lamp has a rechargeable battery in a housing with a contact 6 located on the exterior of the housing for connecting the battery to a recharging device 11. A swivel hook 7 on the housing enables the lamp to be hung up. The housing has two generally semi-cylindrical pieces 4,8 securable together, and a bottom cylinder 5 on which the recharging contact 6 is mounted. The lamp may be provided with a high capacity charging device 11 connected to the connecting means 6 for charging the supply in the same order of time it takes to discharge through the light source. <IMAGE>
