Abstract

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for stacking bales. In particular the method and the apparatus of the invention are suitable for handling bales in the cellulose industry. A series of different apparatuses for stacking cellulose bales is already known, the use of which in modern factories is, in many cases, limited by the relatively low production speed which can result, among other things, from the fact that the bales are stacked in such a manner that the new bale is placed under a stack of bales which has already been stacked, for which purpose the apparatuses are built as a heavy construction and as a result are slow, or in such a manner that the first bale is also brought into the stacking station by the lifting apparatus. In order to eliminate these disadvantages, an apparatus was developed with which every bale can be lifted separately onto the stacked stack and the first bale is moved directly into the stacking station. <IMAGE>
