Abstract

A tear-open cap for sealing bottles or the like, comprising an upper cover plate 1, a cylindrical cap shell 2, a tear-open tab 3 defined by a tear-open groove 4 in the cover plate 1 and the cap shell 2, which tear- open tab protrudes with a tongue 5 beyond the cap shell 2, and a pull member 6 connected to the tongue 5 of the tear-open tab 3. The pull member 6 comprises a plastics connecting part 7. This connecting part 7 is connected to the tongue 5 of the tear-open tab 3, forming a pull-proof and twist-proof joint between the tongue 5 and the connecting part 7. The outwardly directed side of the joint is moreover configured with a protruding distancing member 9, the upper effective limit surface of which is situated at a distance from the tongue root 8 which is substantially less than the height a of the cap shell 2. <IMAGE>
