Abstract

Connected to the bottom of the operating spindle (16) of a mixer tap is a cup-shaped control disc (12) which is moved above a ceramic plate (11) with control openings for the water flow. Between the disc and the bottom of the spindle is a head (20) which fits into grooves between vertical lugs (25) on top of the disc. The head has two vertical sides which are parallel to a pin (18) through the spindle, acting as a hinge, and allowing the head to tilt about an axis parallel to the pin. The bottom of the spindle has a hole (19) through it, holding the central cylindrical part of the head, from which project outwards, the flat sided ends (22) of the head. These ends fit between the lugs.
