Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for transmitting information between vehicle components (VE) in a vehicle. The vehicle components are connected to a plurality of transmission nodes (NT1, NT2...NT7), which in turn are connected to a bus (B1). The transmission nodes transmit on the bus information in the form of function parameters and parameter identifiers. The function parameters are derived by the respective transmission node from information from connected vehicle components. The information which is to be supplied to a vehicle component is derived by the transmission node to which the vehicle component is connected. The derivation takes place with the aid of functional relationships stored in the respective transmission node and function parameters received on the bus. Firstly there are sent on the bus from the respective transmission node certain function parameters having values which have changed since they were last transmitted on the bus. Certain transmission parameters having values which have not changed since they were last transmitted from the respective transmission node are only transmitted if none of the parameter values derived in the transmission node for this function parameter has been changed since they were last transmitted.
