Abstract

An operating mechanism for an electric switch comprises a first lever (1) movable by an actuating member (9), a connecting link (2) one end of which is connected to the first lever (1), and a second lever (4) journalled on the other end of the connecting link (2) adjacent to one end (4a) thereof and on a shaft (14) adjacent to the other end thereof, the one end (4a) of the second lever (4) being locked behind a latching member (16) in the ON position of the switch after it has been pivoted round the shaft 14 by movement of the lever 1. In order to avoid the problems of rebound and wear, the first lever (1) and the connecting link (2) we intereconnected by means of a resilient member (3). During the movement of the actuating member (9), the resilient member (3) is stretched by relative movement of the lever (1) and connecting link (2) and the one end (4a) of the second lever (4) is moved beyond the locking position defined by the latching member (16). <IMAGE>
