Abstract

Apparatus for controlling the sound reverberation characteristics of a room comprises an acoustic absorber which may be mounted between the ceiling and a wall of the room, or in a corner. The acoustic absorber may be a panel which may be curved so as to be located in areas where the likely sound intensity will be particularly high. The reverberation characteristics of the room may be altered by changing the angle of the panel or deforming it. This may be done automatically so as to maintain the characteristics of the room substantially constant. The invention also extends to a method. <IMAGE>
