Abstract

Device for propelling a trackbound unit comprising at least two drive wheels (5) swingable substantially perpendicularly to the direction of travel, said drive wheels being mounted in support means (13) and said support means (13) being pivotably mounted in a common carrier means (16-19), said carrier means (16-19) being pivotably attached relative to a framework (21) of the unit in a vertical plane substantially parallel to the direction of travel, means (7-10, 32) for driving the wheels (5), a stationary rail (6) located between the drive wheels (5) and anchored to the ground, and means (15) for making the drive wheels (5) bear against the rail (6). The invention is characterized in that the carrier means (16-19) is pivotably attached relative to the framework (21) so that the point of attachment (B) and the centres (C) of the drive wheels (5), in a normal position without being actuated by outer forces, are located on substantially the same height in the vertical plane.
