Abstract
A probe with a body shaped in one part with a defined monitoring surface has at least two light points fixed to the body at a distance from each other and from the monitoring surface. The product of the number of measurement dimensionsand the number of light points amounts to at least six. The monitoring surface has the shape of an end surface on a point, and the light points and the centre of the end surface are in a straight line, the light points being separately illuminable. In this case, there are two light points. Where three light points are used, they do not lie in a straight line. Where three light points are involved, the distance between a first and second of them is different from that between the second and third points. The body of the probe has a curved shape between the end surface and the light point nearest to it.
