Abstract

The brake block shoe consists of two brake blocks (2,3), and a holder (1). The two parts of the holder (7,8) are connected by an articulation (6,14). By means of a spring (15), the shoe is bent in the articulation when the brake is applied. This causes the centre of the shoe to be moved sufficiently far from the wheel that freezing between shoe and wheel is prevented.
