Abstract

The cable drum brake is detachably secured to a drum rotating in a stand, so as to brake it as the cable is unwound from it. It has a non-round shaft (12) inserted in the drum hole so as to rotate with the drum, and on which is a brake disc (13), outside the drum end. A housing with bearings and an axial member (20) engages the stand, while shoes are pressed against the drum periphery.
