Abstract
The device is used in order to measure forces acting in railway rails or similar loaded beams with the aid of strain gauges which are inserted into a recess in the rail in the plane of the neutral fibre, and from the output signal of which an evaluation unit calculates the vertical forces acting in the neutral fibre. In order to input the deformation onto the strain gauge or gauges, provision is made of a sleeve or a bush (1) which is inserted into the recess (2) in the rail (3) under elastic deformation.
