Abstract
In this device which, in particular, is suitable for determining the position or measuring the travel of, for example, the state of compression of the suspension of a vehicle, it is proposed to allocate to a stationary transmitting coil two receiving coils which are also stationary and to provide an intermediate coil which can be moved in dependence on the displacement and which is constructed in such a manner that it produces a frequency displacement or frequency change of the signal output by the transmitting coil and also induces this in the receiving coils so that it is possible to detect and evaluate exclusively the position-dependent harmonic signal in the receiver coils by means of appropriate filtering. As a result, the extent of magnetic coupling which can be achieved between the individual coils becomes non-critical. <IMAGE>
