The present invention relates to an exhalation valve device for use in protective masks, comprising a neck portion (2) for sealing connection to the protective mask, and a valve portion (3) connected to the neck portion, said valve portion having at least one valve member permitting the passage of exhaled air, with substantially no change of direction.
