Abstract

Beneath the rubbish storage site is a drainage layer (2). On the upper side of each strip of rubbish (1) is a roof (7) of sealing material, on which is laid a draining layer (8). Rainfall on the storage site is collected via the draining layer (8), and passes via the slots (6) downwards to the drainage bottom layer (2) from which runs to a suitable recipient. In this manner, water spends a shorter time on the upper side of the rubbish strips, which limits penetration into the rubbish. Likewise, any water from the rubbish itself leaks away directly into the drainage layer (2).
